Abstract

The technical feasibility of manufacturing laminated Eucalyptus diversicolor (karri) and Acacia mearnsii (black wattle) pick handles was investigated and confirmed. The strength of laminated handles did not differ appreciably from that of solid handles. Material for laminated handles dries better and more quickly than blanksfor solid handles because it is much thinner. Recovery from a given stem should also be more advantageous.
