Abstract

The efficiency of several South African forest nurseries were compared by measuring the plant percent and the survival of the plants they produced when growing Pinus elliottii from the same seed lot. Plant percent varied significantly between nurseries but survival did not differ significantly, even though plants varied appreciably in all parameters normally used to assess quality.
