The Estimation of the Leaf Area Index for a Mature Pinus radiata Stand

Abstract

The present study is the follow-up of previous biomass studies in the Bosboukloof Catchment in the 10n-kershoek State Forest. Needle surface area was estimated from the circumference at 50% of the length from the base of the needle and needle length, with an adjustment for needle taper.
