The influence of vesicular‐arbuscular mycorrhizas on production and nutrition of white clover

Abstract

Inoculating white clover seedlings with E3 and Glomus tenuis vesicular‐arbuscular mycorrhizas produced slight increases in dry matter production in unsterilized field plots at Cedara, Natal. Phosphorus levels in plant tops showed no increases due to mycorrhizas but crude protein content of all mycorrhizal plants were higher than those of non‐mycorrhizal plants.
