HYDROLOGY OF WETLANDS

Abstract

The hydrology of wetlands is a subset of hydrology which concentrates on situations where fully saturated groundwater flow usually obtains and evapotranspiration rates frequently attain the potential. The wetlands are usually of insignificant economic potential so characteristically a paucity of hydrological data exists ab initio. After a fairly full discussion on the macro effects of evapotranspiration, seepage and overland flow, various types of hydrological models are outlined and a plea made for sensible data collection programmes tied to pertinent models' need.
