BASE-FLOW IN CATHEDRAL PEAK STREAMS

Abstract

A study of base-flow, undertaken with the primary object of devising a procedure for determining the effect of treatment applied in whole catchments on base-flow, is described. The mechanical construction of base-flow recession curves is explained. Base-flow recession theory is discussed and a modified hypothesis is put forward and tested by application to Cathedral Peak data. Methods for determining the effect of treatment on base-flow are proposed.
