Abstract

This article is a comparative analysis of the depiction of death in two poems by two leading Venda poets, N.A. Milubi and W.M.R. Sigwavhulimu. In the analysis, problems faced by both ordinary people and poets with regard to death are shown. This is followed by an analysis of what people do to resolve the problem of escaping death. The last part of the analysis shows recommendations by poets to people with regard to what they should do to escape death. In the conclusion mention is made of how poets view death.
