Abstract

The needs of modern man for open-air recreation, the nature of and the problems associated with the supply of these requirements are briefly discussed. The extent to which the forest can qualify for this use, the nature of the facilities to be provided and the possibility of increasing the recreational potential of the forest are outlined. The need for special training of foresters in nature and open-air recreational management is emphasized.
